To celebrate the 70th anniversary of Harbin Engineering University, the Yantai-Weihai Alumni Association and Yantai Research Institute organized various forms of university flag relay activities, and held a grand gathering at Yantai Research Institute on June 18 to send affectionate blessings to their alma mater.

8 o'clock in the morning, the university flag relay activity began from Binhai Road in Yantai. It took 100 alumni 2 hours to complete the 14-kilometer relay along the seaside road. On reaching Yuehai Stadium. The university flag relay themed with 'sailing to the future with 70 years' of brilliant history to celebrate 70th anniversary of Harbin Engineering University unveiled for alumni working and living in Yantai and Weihai.

Leaders from all walks of life delivered speeches for the event, expressing their ardent expectations in alumni to cherish friendship, pay back their alma mater, and build a community with a shared future with their alma mater.

Thanks to its territorial edge, Yantai-Weihai Alumni Association donated more than 700 books to Yantai Research Institute in commemoration of cultivation by their alma mater to better serve the development of HEU.

Finally, all alumni proclaimed in unison :'We are from Yantai and Weihai. We are in Yantai Research Institute of Harbin Engineering University. Our responsibilities rest where the university flag stands. We wish our alma mater a happy 70th birthday!' In the voice of blessings echoing in blue sky and deep sea, the university flag relay activity was satisfyingly brought down its curtain.
