I. Analytical Test Center
Set up by Yantai Research Institute and guided by the principle of shared construction and utilization, the Material and Chemical Analytical Test Center is a public testing service platform intended for disciplinary development, scientific innovation, achievements transformation and regional economic boosting. Depending on liquid chromatography triple quadrupole mass spectrometer, gel permeation chromatography, Fourier change infrared spectrometer, digital optical microscope and other advanced analytical and testing instruments, it could carry out extensive academic cooperation from all walks of life, and contribute to local economic construction and scientific and technological improvement thanks to scientific, reliable and accurate detection methods.
II. Research Center for Advanced Materials and Manufacturing
This laboratory is equipped with machinery composed of large-scale additive and subtractive composite manufacturing platform, laser additive and subtractive composite manufacturing equipment, simulated marine environment swing platform, CMT welding machine, ABB robot and others, totaling 33 sets. Coupled with in-depth cooperation with well-known enterprises in Yantai, it focuses on key technologies such as laser powder bed forming manufacturing, laser melting and deposition manufacturing, ultra-high-speed laser cladding, laser welding and cutting on thick plates in dealing with requirements led by digitalization, greening transition and intelligent transformation. It has established a complete technological system containing laser forming, laser cladding, laser welding, laser cutting, laser surface strengthening and laser cleaning, and will industrialize related achievements to promote industrial application of advanced laser manufacturing technology.
III. Laboratory of Nuclear Chemistry and Electrochemistry
Pursuing radioactive waste treatment, molten salt electrochemistry, material corrosion and protection, and medical isotope separation and purification, this laboratory has built cooperation with relative enterprises and institutes and carried out practical R&D accordingly. Through measures made possible by high-efficiency synthesized adsorbing materials, membrane separating materials and electroadsorption materials in radioactive wastewater disposal, it proposed molten salt oxidation in treating radioactive organic waste, solving technological problems relating to radioactive uranium-containing wastewater, waste resin treatment and isotope separation and purification for chemical enterprises. In this way, an outlook of shared high-end research equipment among universities and enterprises, platforms for advanced nuclide separation, purification, detection evaluation and data analysis is duly realized, paving the way for enterprises to break bottleneck problems.
IV. Laboratory of Advanced Synthetic Polymer Materials
To better develop integrated circuit packaging materials, high-performance polymer products, new synthesized display materials and high-end aramid fibers, this laboratory has deepened connections with renowned chemical enterprises in Yantai to identify technological requirements and shortcomings in scientific research. By bring into full play of its advantages in technology and expertise, it has gained headway in the import substitution of high-end encapsulants and high-performance encapsulation materials curing agents designed for integrated circuits and new energy industries. Since the curing agent materials developed have basically catch up with similar foreign products in terms of performance, the laboratory is tasked to help finish key scientific research objectives from important national scientific research projects undertaken by enterprises, and solve bottleneck problems arisen from materials and technologies.
