On May 24, 100 days before the 70th anniversary of Harbin Engineering University, Yantai Research Institute held a ceremony launching the countdown. More than 700 teachers and students witnessed this significant moment.

At about 9 a.m., accompanied by the impassioned national anthem and university anthem, the national flag and university flags were unfurled in the wind and fluttered over the Stadium. Filled with reverence and delight, teachers and students saluted and expressed their blessings for the upcoming 70th anniversary of HEU with the most sincere emotions.

The name of the stadium was unveiled on site, marking Yuehai Stadium was formally put to use in Yantai Research Institute. After 9 months of construction, the stadium was built with a 400-meter track and a football field in line with national standards, and could accommodate up to 2,800 spectators at the same time. After rounds of discussion and solicitation, the name of the stadium was finally chosen as 'Yuehai', which means 'the sea is wide enough to let fishes leap', expressing expectations that students should cherish their youth and struggle for great ambitions in the new era.

Later, the countdown timer marked 100 days to the 70th anniversary was officially activated. Teachers and students applauded the unveiling of the countdown timer with passion.

The countdown ceremony to the 70th anniversary marks that the practical preparations for the much anticipated 70th anniversary have entered its final stage. In the future, all teachers and students will gather strengths, continue to strive to write new chapters of the Chinese modernization for Yantai Research Institute with a lofty attitude of pursuing excellence and seizing every opportunity, to celebrate the 70th anniversary with outstanding achievements!
