To better promote campus culture, improve physical and mental health among students, and cultivate their teamwork spirit and collective sense of honor, the 3rd Sports Festival of Yantai Research Institute kicked off on October 15. The opening ceremony was announced by the institute director, and attended by representatives of athletes admitted in 2023 and members of student organizations.

The head of department of students' affairs presided over the ceremony and delivered a speech, announced the arrangement of the sports festival, and sent sincere wishes. He hoped that all athletes could compete as per the spirit of 'friendship comes first' to compete with style and morality; instruct all judges to strictly abide by the rules and make equitable judgements to ensure smooth progress of the matches.

The athletes' representative promised that all athletes would strictly abide by the rules of the competition and carry forward the sportsmanship of positive attitude and brave struggle. The judges' representative swears that all judges will firmly uphold rules and disciplines, respect all participants, and act as 'navigators' of civilized competitions.

Through monthly themes and events, the current sports festival is ready to bring the first batch of 6 games consisting basketball, football, table tennis, Baduanjin(a Chinese traditional deep breathing exercise), brisk walking and tabloid sports, into students' daily lives.

As one of myriad of efforts to boost all-round development of 'morality, intelligence, physical fitness, aesthetics and profession' for graduate students in the new era, 'Tuohai' Sports Festival stands as a significant component, in which Yantai Research Institute will keep delving, iteratively upgrade and achieve diversified education. That's how we will carry forward sportsmanship, promote sports for all, and help the integration of cultural exchanges.
