Sparkling Academic Cooperation — 4th Eastern-Western Asia Biomaterials International Congress

The 4th Eastern-Western Asia Biomaterials International Congress — hosted by Harbin Engineering University from November 2nd to 4th — convened in Yantai, as an endeavor to promote evolution of biomaterials and biomedicine and facilitate interdisciplinary biomaterial exchange in terms of academics, science and technology. 200-plus experts and scholars specialized in biomaterials affiliated to more than 80 institutions from Australia, Japan, Indonesia, Turkey, Singapore, Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, Macao and other regions gathered to celebrate this grand event.

EWAB 2024 is of great timely and of far-reaching significance, that stands as a concrete action to deeply implement innovation-driven development strategy, firmly promote deep integration of scientific, technological and industrial innovation. On top of that, it is also a great chance to further attain synergy between technological innovation and industrial development in new materials, potentially accelerating the revolution and prosperity of global biomaterials industry.

In this day and age, the science of biomaterials have been pioneering in a rapid way, accompanied by various breakthroughs and achievements. Experts and scholars attending the conference took it as an opportunity to tap into technological needs and opportunities, and brought wisdom to the development of biomaterials from perspectives including promoting human civilization, exploring secrets of human life, and ensuring human health and longevity.

Experts and scholars shared their cutting-edge research achievements of various materials sciences, during keynote speeches after the opening ceremony.

EWAB is a biennial international academic conference that aims to strengthen exchange and cooperationby meansacademic seminars, especially among young and middle-aged scholars.The first three sessions were held in Antalya of Turkey, Taiwanof China, and Yogyakarta of Indonesia in October 2015, July 2017, and September 2019, respectively. Ever since its first session, EWAB has provided new visions and diverse topics for the development of biomaterials through the lenses of biomedicine and therapy, bio-based materials, biomimetic material application and trends in medical device industry.
